Lowepro Nova 2

17. August 2002
The Lowepro Nova 2 Camera Bag
On my recent trip to Norway I wanted to mainly use two cameras for landscape work - the Rolleiflex GX and my new Bessa R2. The Bessa is a rangefinder camera and perhaps not exactly made for landscape work, however attached with the 15mm Super Wide Heliar lens you can create marvelous landscape panoramas. (You can read more about the Bessa and lenses in a coming review)

Nova 2
I needed to be able to easily carry these two (light) cameras, on short walks (half a day or so) and I therefore looked at the Lowepro camera bags and found the Nova 2 to be just what I needed.
The Nova series from Lowepro are shoulder bags mainly intended for SLR's in varying sizes. There are 7 different Nova bags from the Nova Micro (small SLR or APS camera) up to the Nova 5 (2 SLR's with lenses etc.)

I settled for the Nova 2 because it would contain the Rolleiflex GX and the Bessa along with a few films perfectly without being too big.
The Nova 2 bag has two moveable interior dividers so it's easy to configure the bag even for these two odd-sized cameras.
The internal dimension are : (WxDxH) 21,5 x 11 x 19,5 cm (8,5 x 4.25 x 7.75 in). The bag comes in varying colors, not sure how many. Mine is black.

MF plus 35mm in ONE bag
The pictures below shows how you can carry a medium format camera AND a 35mm camera for panoramic (wideangle) work in ONE bag:

(Unpack the films and you get room for more)
The weight is 2.9 kg (6,4 lb) - not more than most people can carry for hours!

Tripod?
But where's the tripod?
OK, I admit that on short or hour long walks I only do handheld work, otherwise I'll carry the tripod on my shoulder.
